My newest artistic venture has been a process of years in the making. Coming from a family of surfers I am always by the ocean and always familiar with that sex wax smell. The feeling of being stuck in a wetsuit is where my heart lives. A few summers back I collected some old surfboards from the local surf shop, “The Beach House,” from owner and surf expert “Eric.” He has been a longtime friend of my dads so he really hooked a sister up. I have worked with art resin in the past, as an experimental from of “Flow” art. This art form has allowed me to let lose of some of the restraints I put on myself when doing
commission art oil and watercolor paintings. Resin has no rules. Just pure expression and fun, color and not to mention highly toxic materials. Yikes! You have to have the proper safety gear, if you don’t want o be huffing that burning plastic. Anywho, I finally got back into resin painting this summer and created some fun pieces for family and friends. The above shows (left) and example of a resin work, and on the (right) a graphic design I created using paint pens, and then coated in clear resin. Art is always teaching me to push myself to do more and try different things and thats what I love most about it. It pushes me to be the best version of myself and for that I am grateful.
